Guwahati: A youth has been arrested by the police in connection with kidnapping a minor girl from the Noonmati area of Guwahati on Saturday.
The accused has been identified as Ramen Bodo who is a resident of Gopal Nagar area in Guwahati.
According to reports, the 16-year-old girl who is a resident of Soonsali native had eloped with Bodo on March 9.
Meanwhile, the girl’s parents filed a missing person report with the Noonmati Police Station prompting the police to begin an investigation to locate the missing girl.
Reports stated that the kidnapper was arrested at an individual’s home in the Gopal Nagar area after police conducted search operations in the area.
The missing girl was also freed from the house in which she had been held captive.
It may be mentioned that the youth has been brought into custody by the police and a case has been registered against him.
