Guwahati: A suspected robber was injured in police firing while trying to flee from the custody in Sibsagar district of Upper Assam on Tuesday.
The robber has been identified as Arun Kurmi and the incident took place in the Sepon which is a semi-urban place of the district.
According to reports, Kurmi was arrested on Tuesday evening in connection with many other criminal offences.
It may be mentioned that the suspect sustained leg injuries. He is currently receiving treatment at Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) in Dibrugarh.
