Assam: Senior Advocate Attacked With Acid In Gossaigaon

Guwahati: In a shocking incident, a group of miscreants threw acid at a senior advocate in Assam’s Gossaigaon on the night of February 17.

The attackers broke into the victim’s residence and threw acid on his face.

As per reports, the victim has been identified as Abdus Samad Ahmed.

A resident of Padmabil village in the Gossaigaon subdivision senior advocate Abdus Samad Ahmed works for the Gossaigaon Lawyers Association.

Ahmed was taken by ambulance to the Gossaigaon RNB hospital but as his condition worsened and was transferred to GMCH.

Reportedly, on February 17, at 6 p.m. the senior advocate left the Gossaigaon Judicial Dandadhi Court after finishing his professional duties there. Two unidentified criminals broke into Ahmed’s house and threw acid in his face and fled from the scene.

The tragedy has caused panic in the region. The authorities are diligently looking into the incident in an effort to find the criminals.
