Guwahati: A dead body of a man was recovered in Dhekiajuli village of Sonitpur district in Assam on Sunday morning.
The body was recovered at the National Highay 15 in the Alisinga area of the village.
As per the sources, the body of the unidentified man was found floating in a pond.
Meanwhile, police officials have reached the spot and are monitoring the body. The identity of the man is yet to be ascertained.
The police officials further suspected that someone has killed the man and dumped the body in the pond.
Moreover, police said that there was no injury mark found on the body. As the body was swollen it has been suspected that the body was dumped two or three days before.
However, there is no official claim about is. Police stated the whole story came to light after the poster mortem of the body.
It may be mentioned that after witnessing the body, local soon informed the police and investigation is underway into the matter.
