Assam: Youth Arrested for Allegedly Threatening Chairman and Setting Vehicle Ablaze

Guwahati, 23rd May: In a recent development in Moirabari, Dhing, Morigaon District, a young man has been apprehended for allegedly issuing death threats to the chairman of Borthal Doloigaon Secondary School. Identified as Ashraful Islam, the accused reportedly made numerous threatening calls to the chairman, Abdul Quddus, demanding a sum of Rs 2 lakh.

Sources reveal that the tension escalated when the accused purportedly set fire to the chairman’s vehicle just days prior to his arrest. The series of events culminated in the filing of a formal complaint by the school’s chairman, citing harassment and intimidation.

Law enforcement acted swiftly upon receiving the complaint, leading to the arrest of Ashraful Islam. The authorities are currently investigating the matter further to ascertain the full extent of the accusations.

The incident has sparked concern within the community, highlighting the importance of addressing threats and violence against educational institutions and their administrators.
