Delhi: WWE wrestler, actor The Great Khali joins BJP

Guwahati: Professional Wrestler Dalip Singh Rana also known as The Great Khali has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Delhi on Thursday.

While addressing a press conference after joining the BJP, Khali said, “I have joined the BJP as I am inspired by its ideology. I admire their work towards the country. The party’s ideology is aimed towards India’s progress and I hope I will be able to live up to the standards of the BJP.”

Union Minister Jitendra Singh and BJP national general secretary Arun Singh welcomed The Great Khali to the BJP.

Welcoming Khali to the party, BJP national general secretary Arun Singh said, “A world-class wrestler who has defeated some of the best wrestlers in history has joined the BJP today. You were a Punjab Police officer, the son of a farmer. You have brought honour to the country, and I am delighted that you are joining the BJP.”

Addressing the press conference, Jitendra Singh said that Khali will endeavour to develop the BJP “much like his body.” “Dalip Singh Rana, often known as Khali, will continue to inspire the country’s youth. I am grateful to him for supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision “Singh remarked.

Khali was born on the 27th of August, 1972. As an Indian professional wrestler and promoter, he has a long list of accomplishments.

It may be mentioned that he’s best recognised for his time in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), where he went under the ring name The Great Khali. Khali debuted in professional wrestling in the year 2000.

Before joining the WWE, he worked as a police officer in Punjab. Khali went on to win the WWE Championship.
