Guwahati: An education officer of the Batadrava Education Block was arrested from Nagaon by the Crime Investigation Department (CID) along with Assam Police in the wee hours of Friday.
The incident took place in the Rajabari area of Dhing town.
The officer has been identified as Baharul Islam.
According to reports, Islam was the Block Elementary Education Officer (BEEO) and he was arrested from his house by the sleuths of the CID.
He was arrested on severe allegations of corruption over the past 15 years.
However, the police have not revealed why he was arrested, but there have been allegations that he was involved in severe financial mismanagement and other corruption-related actions.
It may be mentioned that Islam has been brought to Guwahati for questioning.
