Guwahati, 13th September: An incident of firing was reported in Assam’s Hailakandi, where one youth was arrested. The incident occurred in Badlabadli village near the Assam-Mizoram interstate border.
Reports suggest that an altercation between two individuals escalated, leading to the accused brandishing a country-made pistol and firing at the other person, followed by a blank shot in the air.
The local residents informed the Jamira Police Patrol Post, leading to the arrest of the accused, identified as Rajen Riyang, and the seizure of the weapon.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but tension remains in the area.
