Five Most Wanted Robbers Arrested in Assam’s Sivasagar
Guwahati: A gang of five most wanted robbers has been arrested by the Assam Police on Saturday night.
The arrested persons have been identified as Ikram Ali alias Badang, Samsol Ali, Jalaluddin Ahmed, Akhtar Hussain and Nebul Hussian alias Feti. All of them are the residents of Japihojia Village under Demow Police Station.
According to reports, the gang is known as ‘Badang Gang’ and they were arrested during a raid at Bamunbari Tea Estate where they were hiding.
It needs to noted that the robbers were members of the terror-inducing gang led by Baba Lahon and Arif Khan.
Reports further stated a group of robbers raided Pankaj Agarwalla’s home on February 28 and looted around 1.5 lakh rupees.
However, they are accused of being involved in a robbery at the Punjan Road of the district on the same day.
Meanwhile, investigation into the matter is currently underway by the police.
It may be mentioned that the Sivasagar police have arrested a total of seven robbers in connection with the case, which has been registered as 105/22 under section 395 of the Indian Penal Code.
The weapons used in the heist on February 28 are presently being sought by the police.
So far, no comment from the police headquarters has been received in connection with the incident.
