Guwahati: 2 Boats Flagged Off for Senior Citizens and Children
Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma flagged off two steel catamaran vessels at Guwahati’s Inland Water Transport (IWT) Ghat. This was done in order to increase Brahmaputra River tourism even further.
Each vessel can accommodate 100 people and 50 motorcycles.
The catamaran ships will also include amenities for divyangs, women, and children.
Sharing the news on Twitter, Sarma wrote, “A major boost to river tourism in the Brahmaputra!

Sarma further tweeted, “Ferry for All! Happy to have laid the foundation stone of Guwahati Gateway Ferry Terminal at IWT Ghat, Guwahati today. To be built at the cost of ₹289 cr, it will have special facilities for especially abled, senior citizens, women & children. @ cmpatowary @ oja_queen”.
