Guwahati: A 27-year-old Arunachal Pradesh man was arrested for allegedly raping a woman in Hengrabari area of Guwahati on Wednesday.
The incident took place in Rupkonwar path near Downtown area at around 11 am yesterday.
The accused identified as Tenzin Dargey Kee
According to reports, Tenzin forced his way into the woman’s rented apartment and raped her twice.
The victim, who was also from Arunachal Pradesh, was said to have been living alone in her leased apartment.
Following the incident, the accused was apprehended in Surujnagar’s 6th mile region around midnight on Wednesday, and a case was filed under relevant sections of the IPC.
Later, the victim woman was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation.
