Guwahati Lachit Sangha Celebrates Lachit Divas With Great Fervour

Guwahati: The Guwahati Lachit Sangha celebrated Lachit Borphukan’s 400th birthday in Chandmari on Thursday. Lachit Borphukan was a legendary warrior of the Ahom dynasty.

Assam’s national anthem was performed before Lachit Sangha President Kalyan Dutta hoisted the Sangha’s banner.

The general secretary of the Sangha Simanta Daslit the lantern and Arup Goswami a longtime member of the Sangha presented flowers in honour of the great warrior.

The Sangha will hold a drawing contest starting at 2:00 PM in honour of the late Ranen Das and Shantanu Barthakur.

Two of the Sangha’s resource people were Das and Barthakur.

Sangha members will conduct the celebration’s closing ritual at around 4 o’clock.

It should be noted that the group was founded in 1979 and has continuously served to remind us of the national hero’s bravery.

It continues to celebrate the bravery and valour of Assam’s national hero with the same zeal after been established for more than 40 years.
