Guwahati, 14th September: In a disturbing incident on the outskirts of Guwahati, a woman and her alleged lover have been arrested in connection with the premeditated murder of the woman’s husband in Jagiroad.
The victim, identified as Asadur Rahman, was reportedly drugged and murdered by this duo. His lifeless body was later found abandoned inside a car at Silbhanga in Jorabat. The perpetrators appeared to have attempted to stage the incident as an accident by strategically leaving the car on the side of the highway.
Local residents and passersby who discovered the body inside the abandoned vehicle promptly alerted the police. Law enforcement officers arrived at the scene, recovered the body, and initiated a post-mortem examination.
Given the suspicious nature of the incident, the police launched an investigation, leading to the swift arrest of the accused woman and her lover. The arrested individuals have been identified as Feroza Khatun and Safiqul Islam. Additionally, their driver, Rantu Bordoloi, has been detained for questioning as part of the ongoing investigation.
