Nagaon: A chilling tale of love, betrayal, and violence has unfolded in the heart of Nagaon district, Assam. The recent quadruple murder that sent shockwaves through the region has taken a dramatic turn with the arrest of a key suspect.
Amal Sarkar, the nephew of one of the victims, Gunadhar Sarkar, has been apprehended by the Assam Police in connection with the gruesome incident. The victims, including Sarkar, his wife Sarojini, their youngest daughter Jayasmrita, and a local youth named Anupam Sutradhar, were brutally murdered in their residence on the night of November 22nd.
Initial investigations suggest a complex web of relationships and motives behind the killings. While local rumors pointed towards a love triangle involving Anupam and a member of the Sarkar family, the police probe has revealed a darker, more sinister plot.
According to the police, Amal, who resides nearby, rushed to his uncle’s house upon hearing unusual noises. Upon entering, he discovered Gunadhar and Sarojini already deceased. Witnessing Anupam attacking Jayasmrita, Amal intervened, leading to a fatal confrontation between the two men. In the ensuing struggle, Amal overpowered and killed Anupam.
As the investigation deepens, authorities are scrutinizing Amal’s statements and seeking his custody for further interrogation.
