Massive fire breaks out at Serum Institute of India in Pune

A massive fire had engulfed Serum Institute of India in Pune on Thursday afternoon, the fire broke out at a building near the Terminal 1 gate of the institute which is located in the Manjri area of the Pune city. Around 10 fire tenders were rushed to spot to stop the fire engulfing the whole campus. However according to initial reports vaccine output has not been hit by the fire that broke out.

Local Police and administrative officials have also reached the spot and rescue and relief operations are on. The Serum Institute of India is manufacturing coronavirus vaccine ‘Covishield’ which recently got approval for emergency use by Government of India.
