Meghalaya: Langsning FC Triumphs 3-2 Over Ryntih FC in a Thriller at Shillong Premier League

Shillong– Langsning FC edged out Ryntih FC in a pulsating 3-2 clash in the OC Blue Shillong Premier League 2024 at the SSA Stadium, Polo Ground, escaping the relegation zone with a hard-fought victory.

In a game where both teams alternated leads, Langsning’s Dajiedlang Wanshnong shone with two goals (35’, 70’), and Ronney Chel Khongrangjem sealed the win in stoppage time (90’+1). Ryntih FC saw goals from Dameki Khongstia (58’) and Damonlang Pathaw (63’) but fell short in the final moments.

Dajiedlang’s precise lob opened the scoring, giving Langsning an early advantage. Ryntih responded with Dameki’s smooth strike and Damonlang’s powerful header to temporarily seize the lead. Langsning, however, leveled up with another from Dajiedlang. Although he missed a penalty that could have completed his hat-trick, Ronney clinched the game with a fortunate long-range effort in stoppage time.

The victory moves Langsning to seventh, leaving Ryntih at the bottom of the table.

Other Match Highlights

In the second match, Sawmer SC and Nongthymmai SC settled for a 1-1 draw. Ronald Singh Shaikhom put Nongthymmai ahead with a penalty (31’), but Diego Khyriem equalized for Sawmer in stoppage time (90’+4). Despite a second-half red card for Nongthymmai’s Michaelson Kurbah, Sawmer missed several chances before finally leveling the score.

The Shillong Premier League will pause for players to participate in the Santosh Trophy’s National Football Championship, starting November 20.
