Mizoram Announces Interest-Free Loans Up to Rs 50 Lakh on Independence Day

Northeast, 15th August: On India’s 78th Independence Day, Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma unveiled a transformative financial initiative. The state government will offer interest-free loans up to Rs 50 lakh to eligible citizens, a move designed to boost economic growth and enhance living standards.

This new scheme departs from traditional loan programs by removing interest charges, aiming to facilitate entrepreneurship and investment, particularly benefiting small businesses and individuals who face challenges accessing capital.

The initiative reflects the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) government’s commitment to inclusive governance and economic development. Since assuming office in 2023, the ZPM has focused on advancing economic opportunities and improving public services.
