Russia-Ukraine Conflict: Three Assam students safely reach India
Guwahati: Three more from Assam who were stuck in Ukraine have been evacuated by the Ministry of External Affairs and they have arrived in New Delhi on Monday.
The students were received at around 5-20 pm by the officials of Assam Bhawan and all the necessary arrangements done to send them home.
Deepshikha Das from Bongshar, Sualkuchi, Prayash Sharma from Jorhat and Avnish Phukon from Moran are among the pupils who have been evacuated.
On their arrival in New Delhi, authorities from Assam Bhawan greeted them. They will stay with family in Delhi and their air travel from Delhi to Guwahati will be arranged accordingly.
All of the students studied medicine at UZHNU in Ukraine.
According to reports, two more flights with Indian citizens are scheduled to arrive in New Delhi from Budapest (capital of Hungary) and Bucharest (capital of Romania) on Tuesday morning.
It needs to be mentioned that at least 300 students studying medical in Ukraine from Assam are stuck amid the crisis.
Furthermore, the MEA is attempting to repatriate over 18,000 Indian students from Ukraine. MEA is working to reintroduce roughly 18,000 Indians, including Ukrainian students. As the air space in Ukraine is closed, alternative arrangements are being made for the evacuation of Indian nationals.
