Sanjeet Kharel Sworn In as Speaker Pro-Tem of Sikkim Legislative Assembly

Northeast Desk, 11th June: In a significant ceremony held at Raj Bhavan, Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya administered the oath of office to Sanjeet Kharel, appointing him as the Speaker Pro-Tem of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly.

During the event, Governor Acharya extended his congratulations to Kharel and expressed confidence in his ability to discharge the duties of the position with integrity and dedication, reflecting the democratic ethos of governance in Sikkim.

The swearing-in ceremony signifies the commencement of a new legislative term in the state, highlighting the democratic process and governance principles upheld in Sikkim.

As the newly appointed Speaker Pro-Tem, Kharel will preside over the inaugural session of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly, overseeing the swearing-in of the newly elected members of the 11th Sikkim State Legislative Assembly.

Sanjeet Kharel, a Member of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly representing Namthang Rateypani, brings his experience and commitment to public service to his new role.

The ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang (Golay), Chief Secretary, Director General of Police (DGP), Additional Chief Secretary (Education Department), Secretary Raj Bhavan, Secretaries to the Chief Minister, Secretary of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly, Secretary of the Law Department, and other distinguished guests, underscoring the significance of the occasion.
