Guwahati: Schools in the Kamrup district of Assam’s revenue circles of North Guwahati, Hajo, Kamalpur, Rangia, and Kayan will be closed on June 17 and 18.
The Kamrup district administration in Assam informed this via an order on Thursday (June 16).
According to the directive, all public and private schools will be closed on June 17 and 18.
The Kamrup district administration in Assam made this decision after the Indian meteorological department (IMD) issued a forecast warning of heavy rain on June 17 and 18.
However, if there are any scheduled exams on June 17 and 18, the schools will be allowed to open.
Notably, the flood situation in Assam has remained dire following heavy rains over the previous week.
