Northeast Desk, 27th May: The closing day of Round 6 of the C-Division S-League 2023-24 featured two exciting matchups.
Match 1: Denzong Boyz FC vs. Sikkim Dragon FC
Denzong Boyz FC demonstrated their dominance by securing their sixth comfortable win of the season, defeating Sikkim Dragon FC and becoming the first team to secure promotion. Gyurmey Sangay Bhutia’s hattrick, along with goals from Vivek Rai, Sonam Wangchuk Tamang, Navin Sunwar, and Nabin Tamang, led to a decisive 7-0 victory. Gyurmey Sangay Bhutia was named the ‘Man of the Match’ for his outstanding performance.
Match 2: United Pacheykhani SC vs. Majitar SC
The second match was a thrilling encounter between United Pacheykhani SC and Majitar SC. Majitar SC’s skipper Andrew Subba opened the scoring, but Anurag Chettri of Pacheykhani SC quickly equalized. Benay Rai restored Majitar’s lead before halftime. In the second half, Aron Tamang and Vicky Chettri added to Majitar’s tally, while Bemon Bhujel and Anurag Chettri scored for Pacheykhani SC. Majitar SC emerged victorious with a 4-3 win. Anurag Chettri was declared the ‘Man of the Match’ for his valiant efforts.
