Tripura: BSF Foils Major Infiltration Attempt by Bangladeshi Nationals
Northeast Desk, 13th August: The Border Security Force (BSF) successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt by a group of 12 to 15 Bangladeshi nationals at the BOP Paharmura area in District Khowai, Tripura.
The group tried to cross the international boundary during poor weather and low visibility. BSF troops on duty, maintaining high alert, noticed the attempted breach. When challenged, the infiltrators attempted to breach the border fencing forcibly.
In response, the BSF fired a warning shot from a Pump Action Gun, prompting the group to retreat back into Bangladeshi territory. The incident was averted thanks to the vigilance of the BSF personnel.
In light of the ongoing unrest in Bangladesh, the BSF has heightened its surveillance and border control measures to prevent such incidents and ensure border security.
