Woman Gives Birth on Platform 4 at Guwahati Railway Station, Mother and Baby Safe
Guwahati: An ordinary train journey turned into an extraordinary moment when a woman from Bihar gave birth on Platform No. 4 of Guwahati Railway Station. The unexpected event occurred while the woman was traveling aboard the Rani Kamlapati Express from Agartala to Barauni and went into labor before reaching her destination.
With no time to transfer her to a hospital, railway doctors and female personnel from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) acted swiftly to assist in the delivery. Their timely intervention ensured the safe birth of the baby on the station platform.
Railway sources confirmed that both the mother and newborn are in good health, thanks to the prompt medical assistance provided. Following the successful delivery, the woman was transferred to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for further care.
The incident highlights the dedication and preparedness of railway staff, whose efforts turned a potentially risky situation into a heartwarming story of care and community spirit.
