Entertainment Desk, 25th April: Actor Randeep Hooda was honored with the prestigious Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award at a ceremony held at Mumbai’s Dinanath Mangeshkar Natyagrih. This accolade holds significant recognition within the entertainment industry.
Expressing his gratitude, Hooda remarked, “Receiving this award alongside such esteemed individuals is truly special for me. Working on the biopic of Savarkar ji was a privilege, particularly as it was associated with the Mangeshkar family and Dina Nath ji, who shared a close bond with Savarkar.”
The biopic Hooda referred to, titled “Swatantrya Veer Savarkar,” delves into the life of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, a pivotal figure in India’s struggle for independence. Directed by Hooda himself, the film offers a distinctive perspective on India’s quest for freedom.
Produced by Zee Studios, Anand Pandit, Sandeep Singh, Randeep Hooda, and Yogesh Rahar, the movie features Hooda in the lead role, alongside Ankita Lokhande and Amit Sial. It was released on March 22 in both Hindi and Marathi languages.
The ceremony also bestowed the same award upon Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, recognizing his remarkable contributions to Indian cinema. Singer Usha Mangeshkar, a member of the renowned Mangeshkar family celebrated for their iconic musical legacy, presented the award to Bachchan.
Held in Mumbai, the event served as a tribute to talent and dedication in the Indian entertainment industry, honoring individuals who have left a lasting impact in their respective domains.
